Bobby McConnell Porter, age 71 of Belfast, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Marshall Medical Center.

Mr. Porter was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and son of the late Johnny and Kitty Louise McConnell Porter. He was a graduate of Cornersville High School class of 1965 and served his country in the U.S. Army in Munich, Germany.  After the military he was employed with Inter City Products and retired from Goodman, Inc. in Fayetteville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Knox Jacobs and brother, Andy Porter.  He is survived by his wife, Gail Hemphill Porter of Belfast, daughter, Tammy (Jamey) King of Gallatin, two sons, Brian Porter and Cary Porter both of Belfast two grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Suzanne Porter of Arkansas.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Talley Cemetery at Cane Creek with military honors.

Serving as pallbearers, will be Douglas Hemphill, Jamey King, Dustin King, Johnny Davis, Bill Waters, and Mircea Stoica.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catalpa Church of Christ.

London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
