Obituary for Annie Margaret Allen

Annie Margaret Walker Allen, age 92, departed this life on April 19,2021 after an extended illness.

Margaret was born September 19,1928 in Marshall County, Tennessee to the late Harrison Walker and Annie Ruth Stalls Walker. She was the youngest girl of the eight children born to that union.

Margaret professed a love for Christ early in life, and was a long time, active member of St. Matthew AME Church, until her health failed. There she served as Trustee, Stewardess, and a member of the Women’s Missionary Board.

Margaret worked for various families in the Cornersville Community, and was a deliverer for the two flower shops in town for many years. Everyone who knew her, loved her sweet spirit. In the later years, she found joy at the Briar Patch with local friends as the ticket taker.

In 1946, she married Robert Allen Sr. Three children was born to this union: Felicia Rena, Lula Ann, and Robert Jr. (Bubba).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr., daughter Lula Ann, her parents, and all of her seven siblings.

Those left to share her memories are her devoted children, Felicia Lowe, White House, Tn, Robert Jr. (Bubba), Cornersville, Tn, one grandson, Robert Seth Gentry, Louisville, Ky, Seth’s father, Bobby Gentry, Lewisburg, Tn, three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Kyree, Madison Skye, and Kingsley Rin Gentry, Louisville, Ky. Two sister in-laws, Ellen Brown, Louisville, Ky, and Paula Walker, Lewisburg, Tn.

Devoted nieces Mrs. Coralee Williams, Mrs. Peggy Edwards, Mrs. Rosie Clack, and devoted care-giver, Ms. Melanie Wilson.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members, Cornersville Community friends, and her church family remain to love and cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home 310 North Main St. Cornersville, TN 37047 with burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at 11:00 am and will continue until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew AME Church.

The family requests that all attendees wear masks and observe social distancing.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
