Obituary for A.V. Looney
A.V. Looney, age 85, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at NHC Lewisburg.
He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late James Hugh and Francis Madelle Welch Looney. He retired as Plant Manager for ICP in 1992 and also was a farmer. He was a past president of Lewisburg Lions Club, served his country in the National Guard as a Captain and Company Commander of the Lewisburg unit. He was also a charter member of the Little Football League for Marshall County, served on the Board of Directors for the Credit Union, Marshall County Vocational School, and Impact Center. He received the Man of the Year award and was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Woodward Looney, and a sister, Elaine Bills.
He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (Randy) Roberts of Shelbyville, one son, James Nolen (Karen) Looney of Knoxville, three brothers, Hubreen, Doug, and Jerry Looney, and three grandchildren, Blair Roberts, Ally Roberts, Jack Looney.
In keeping with Mr. Looney's wishes, the family will have a private graveside services following cremation.
London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
