Delana & family, I'll miss Ray & his positive way of making a person feel better every time we crossed paths. Memories on the other hand are forever & never lost... they visit & when they do, it's like yesterday. In Fort Payne, Al now & was tied up with minor hernia surgery or would have been there for the funeral.

I will miss Ray not only as a trusted friend, but as the person I could always count on for solid advice and a positive attitude. When I was going through a rough divorce, was hopeless, my house and barn were literally falling down and I had no money, Ray sat with me and talked in that wonderful calming way he had, and by the end of our conversation I had hope again. I will miss him dearly, and am sorry that I can't be with you at this time of need. All my love to Delana, Ashley, and family.

Due to mine and Velvet's health right now Im not sure we will be able to make it to the funeral home. Just wanted to let the family know what an inspiration Brother Ray has been to me the short time I have known him. Not only in my battle with cancer but most importantly my journey to Christ. His love for our Lord was unmatched, and I saw him at Sunday school and wondered how he was able to be there. I soon learned it was his love for our Lord. I loved to hear him sing The Ship of Zion and now he has sailed that ship with his Captain at the helm. Your work here is done my Brother but you influence will live on. You are home.
