Obituary for J.W. Harper

James William "J.W." Harper, age 88, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at NHC Lewisburg.

He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late James Murray and Beatrix Lurlene Howard Harper. He was a retired Shipping Supervisor for Moon Pencil and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. He served his country during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring from the Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Harper, sisters, Rachel Norton and Ophelia Horton, and one great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Judi Harper of Lewisburg, son, Duane (Amanda) Harper of Lebanon, daughters, Sandra Harper Clark of Lewisburg, and Cindy (Ben) Varnado of Charleston, South Carolina, one sister, June (Gene) Cook of Hazel Green, one step daughter, Virginia (Jeff) Smith and one step son, Andrew Christopher (Linda) Allen. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Park.

Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tennessee Children's Home, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
