Obituary for James Milton Petty

James Milton Petty, age 93, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, January 12th, 2020 at his residence.

He was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Hatton Petty and Bessie Troop Petty. He was a foreman for Heil Quaker and was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Spence Petty and one sister Ruth Moore.
He is survived by a son, Jerry Lee (Betsy) Petty of the Verona Community, one brother, Wayne (Marie) Petty of Lewisburg, granddaughter, Melissa (Vance) Tankersley, grandson, Sam Petty, and great grandson, Spence Tankersley.
The family gives special thanks to caregiver, Betty Frazier and special neighbors Matt and Kim Allen and Juan and Sarah Ortega and niece Julie Crawford.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 16th, 2020 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home 324 West Church Street Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091 with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin on Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Thursday, January 16th, 2020 until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Legion.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
