Obituary for John C Hoag III
John C. Hoag III was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 5, 1935 to John C. Jr, and Irene Walters Hoag and died on January 26, 2022 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was 86 years old.
John served in the US Marine Corp from 1954 to 1958 and in the Reserves until 1962. He married Dorothy Lenora Adams in 1972. He was a devoted husband and father, raising three sons, and serving as a Deacon at the Central Church of Christ in Nashville, TN.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hoag, his sons, James Hoag, John Hoag, and Joel Hoag, his sister, Beverly Shiels, as well as two grandsons, Carter and Rhett Hoag.
Private Graveside services will be conducted with burial to follow.
There will be a service to remember John at Lebanon Road Church of Christ on Monday, January 31st, 2022 at 10;00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Brain Foundation or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
