Ralph Wilson

November 29, 1930 ~ October 21, 2018 (age 87)

James Ralph Wilson, age 87 of Lewisburg, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 in NHC Oakwood.

Mr. Wilson was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee born November 29, 1930 son of Homer and Cora Mae Taylor Wilson.  He retired from his insurance career after eight years with Life of Georgia Insurance Company and twenty years with National Life Insurance Company where he was honored as their top salesman five years in a row.  He was an avid sports fan.  His favorite teams were the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Atlanta Braves.  He coached little league baseball in Marshall County for a number of years, also.  He was a member of Church St. Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, three sisters, Pauline Osteen, Nancy Cathy, and Christine Perryman, three brothers, Eldon Wilson, Gene Wilson, and Billy Wilson, one great grandchild, Austin B. McKinney, and son-in-law, Charles Estes.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Wilson of Lewisburg, three daughters, Joyce (Dwayne) Gunnels of Union City, Evon (Jimmie) Ketchum of Lewisburg, and Renee Estes of Cornersville, three sons, Randall (Valerie) Wilson of Columbia, Kevin Wilson of Nashville, and Rickey (Lisa) Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conduced Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour for visitation.
